The right to free speech and privacy – questioning the candidates for the EDPS

On Monday 25 November, Claire took part in the special LIBE (Civil Liberties) committee to question the candidates for the next European Data Protection Supervisor.

During the session, she tackled the issue of GDPR and its negative impact on smaller organisations, the privacy concerns surrounding government access to encrypted messenging services such as WhatsApp, and the dangers that the right to be forgotten poses to free speech.
